In March 2007, Neighborhood Houses opened an Infant & Toddler Program for babies six weeks to two years at Caroline Mission. This is a much needed program for working parents who need quality but affordable child care. Even though families pay on a sliding scale, what they actually pay is only a fraction of the real cost ($236 per week).
Neighborhood Houses is also operating under a "no
diaper bag" policy, which means that Neighborhood
Houses will provide all food, diapers, wipes, etc.
that the babies need throughout the day. This
relieves parents of a serious financial burden, but
this is also why your help is so desperately needed.
There are two ways to help:
1) Purchase Baby Blessings (scholarships) in $50, $100 or $250 increments to help families who are unable to afford care.
2) Host a Baby Shower and collect much needed items for the program.
