Food Pantries
Neighborhood Houses offers Food Pantry Services at Dignity House on Tuesdays and Thursdays and at St. James Center on Mondays and Wednesdays. Additional services will be decided on a case by case basis and may require an evaluation by the organizations health and social service workers. Food Alert!
Frozen meats and non-perishable food items such as tuna, soup, peanut butter and pastas are needed for our four food pantries.

Thrift Store
Neighborhood Houses' Thrift Store located at St. James Center, make clothing and household furnishings available to our clients for little or no cost.
This eases any hardships the family is experiencing, while maintaining their dignity and self-respect. The Thrift Store at St. James is open on Monday mornings from 10 am to 12 pm. Special arrangements can be made for emergencies.
If you have skills you would like to share (sorting books, appliance repair, carpentry, sorting clothes, etc.), please call (314) 383-1733.
If you have gently used clothing, furniture, appliances, or household items you would like to donate to the Neighborhood Houses Thrift Stores, please call (314) 383-1733 for a pickup of large items

Health Matters
In collaboration with Children's Hospital Mobile Van, St. Louis Department of Health and the St. Louis Fire Department, the Health Matters program offers health screenings such as: lead poisoning, vision, hearing and glucose. We also offer blood pressure screenings and counseling at each of our three food pantries. Education is offered to children in each of the centers on issues such as hygiene, dental care, and health issues.
The Health Matters program is run by the Parish Nurse and is offered Caroline Mission, Dignity House and St. James Center
